Tuesday, April 26, 2016 - On the train to Amsterdam, Nederlands

I got up early and packed for train travel. The weather was cold and windy. It snowed some in the night. There was no accumulation in the city that I saw. I left town on the train and immediately saw that the story was different between Leeuwarden and Zwolle. There was accumulation of one inch in many places. After a 3 hour train trip,  I arrived in the suburbs of Amsterdam and had to travel about 6 miles by bicycle to my hotel. It was not pleasant bicycling, the winds gusts came from the side and many times I thought the next one would blow me into the ever present canal. I survived and got warm in my room. My hands were too cold to operate my Camera so I have no pictures. I found a grocery store nearby and bought some bread, cheese and meat for a sandwich for dinner. It was good. Tomorrow I take the train into Amsterdam and will visit the Rijksmuseum. The weather is predicted to be better and I will have pictures as tomorrow also starts the King's Day Celebration.
