Today started well, the weather was cold and windy but the rain when it came was short and light. I took the train to downtown Amsterdam to visit the Rijksmuseum. It was a very good art museum with many very notable paintings by all of the Dutch Masters through out history. I spent a number of hours visiting every exhibit. Outside the museum Amsterdam was starting its King's Day celebration. I walked around and enjoyed the celebration until I got tired and then returned to my hotel for the night. I talked to a variety of people from American tourists to a young German female on a touring bicycle loaded with her belongings. Below is just a sampling of the photos taken.

This looks a lot like what we call Cotton Candy.
No explanation needed.

An another - I have many more.
A party boat, King's Day style. By early evening the canals became congested with them.
A selfe in my King's Day t-shirt.
Another party boat they all carried their own music which of course had a full bass component.
I did not visit a coffee house.
Tot Ziens.
