Today I took advantage of the excellent Austrian railroad system, I got on the train in Linz and got off in Landeck. After doing some research I found that the bike path from St. Anton (my original destination) to Landeck was 2/3 share the road with some winding hills. I decided to forgo that section for when I am older. I will spend tomorrow in Landeck riding adjacent bike paths and exploring some of the town.
A view near the train station. It was 89 degrees when I got off the train, the high for the day.The river Inn as you pass over the bridge getting to my hotel.
A different view from the bridge. The mountain are beautiful. I amay be able to find a cable car and then take a picture from the top.
My hotel, it is nice for a budget hotel in a resort town. The restaurant was not budget and the food was very good.
A picture from track 6 at the Linz train station.
My healthy lunch on the train.
Landeck is an old town where the Sanna flows into the Inn river. I would suspect that it has been as a part of trade routes a number of centuries ago. That river Inn comes St. Moritz, a now famous ski town for the rich and famous. The Sanna river flow from St. Anton am Alberg. A town famous for its alpine skiing schools.
I made a walk around town to look at the bike path going out of town on Wednesday.
And another one. I have more if you need them.
I ate and then retired my tired body.
I think the food is probably the best part of this hotel.
My meal was backed trout with rice, a few vegetables and some sauce. It all had a very good taste, so I ate all of everything but the rice.
Tomorrow I will stay in Landeck and have an adventure around here, maybe.
Bis Morgen
