August 20, 2023 - Vienna, Austria (Updated)

Today I did not ride my bicycle. I took the train from Linz to Wien (Vienna) to visit a former neighbor, and friend, Nathan Clarke. He lives in Wien this week but is moving to Romania in a week or two. He has lived out of the USA for about 14 years and I have not seen him since he moved to Oklahoma right after High School. I had a great visit with him, his lovely and gracious wife and his delightful 15 months old son.

This a picture of myself and Nathan in front of the wine weevil monument in The wine country near Vienna. Think of the Bo Weevil story in Enterprise it is very similar except for the crops.

I do not have any pictures to post of Vienna but in the archives if you want to pictures from Vienna please scroll down till you see my visit to Wien in August 28 & 29, 2010 (My first bike trip to Europe.)

Tomorrow I take the train to Sankt Anton am Arlberg, a classic ski town in the Austrian Alps. It is on the Sanna river a tributary of the Inn river. Think, Innsbruck, which means Inn River Bridge. I plan to bike from St Anton to Innsbruck. I hope the pictures from this next part of the trip will be of interest to you. I am looking forward to this leg of the trip, as there should a lot more down hill. However, unfortunately, I do not expect cooler temperatures. .
