This morning my ride started after a nice breakfast with a very healthy selection. I was greeted out side my window with the following going on.
It looked at first as if the three river cruise boats were all passing at the same time. By the time I started my ride the boats from the same company were moored together and passengers were lined up on the dock with their luggage. It looked then as if they were changing ships. If so I am some we’re not happy. I know they were not off loading or on loading at the start end of a cruise as we at a very small with only a two lane road in and out.
The temperature was 65 degrees when I left after about 35-40 km the temperature was at 80 and going higher. As I knew this would happen I had scheduled a change in mode of transportation.
I rode the train to my next destination, Linz, Austria. I could have a German train or an Austrian train. I choose correctly as the Austrian train seems very new and modern for a regional train. Usually the best trains are on the major city express trains.Very good upholstery and color selection.
In a small town a group of eight young ladies all dressed as if they were having a bridesmaid trip to party in Linz. I will not describe here all they carried with them in their beach type wagon on the train. It was the essence of taking the full party with you, let your imagination tell you what was in the wagon. I looked for them when I walked around town later but not see the group.
I arrived in Linz and found hotel near the train station and the center of town.
The Hauptmarkt in Linz. The main market square. It can be a very busy place. I am sure it would be the primary Christmas Market in Linz. The Danube (Donau) as it has grown at Linz. It continues to grow as it flows west through many countries.
Notice bicyclist on the bridge. They are all riding an identical e-bike and dressed to keep together. I have seen a lot of these tour groups.
My ice cream for the day, cherry. Very good and not too much. I had it before dinner.
Tomorrow I will ride my bike. I will take the Train to Vienna (Wien) to visit with a long tern neighbor from Troy.
Bis Morgen.
Glad to see you made it and enjoying yourself, brings back great memories. However I think you need to change you blog name to Bob's Bike, Beer and Ice Cream. JimH
ReplyDeleteI think you are correct. It is warmer this year than in the past. Much warmer than when we did our trip through every city street available trying to get out of town. I got directions from that same lady in Cham. Go figure. CRW
ReplyDeleteHey Bob, glad to hear things are going well. I hope you got a chance to do some “forward observer” scouting for our river cruise trip in November… Ha ha. I keep us updated on the good beer and food locations. Be safe and watch out for those European curbs.
