Tuesday, August 21, 2018 - Lohr am Main, Germany

Wow, is it Tuesday already? In seven sleeps I will be back home in Troy. Today was another good  ride of approximately60 km. I have average just over 61km per ride for a total of 244km. Tomorrow I will cut that down some to spend more time in this part of the Main river valley. I just had another security alert. I will stop this post and add to it tomorrow night. However all is well.

The road out of Würzburg was easy. No missed turns and getting lost. So far the path has been 95% asphalt and smooth. The riding has been easy but it has still been in upper 80's after noon.
Along the river there are many interesting building on the crest of the hills. Some are ruins like this one and other have been restored. On many of the river crests there are vineyards. I will add a picture tomorrow.
The ever growing river. After 8 trips I have learned that the further you go down the river the wider it gets.
Lunch on the road (thank to James). It was a great ham and cheese sandwich
The ice cream on the road, this time chocolate. This is for you Betsey.
On the way, the dreaded Umleitung (detour) but it was not long and i did not get off track as in the past.
My town for the night was Lohr am Main. It was a very pretty town an I stayed in an excellent hotel.
My dinner for the evening, Forella, with roasted potatoes and horseradish sauce. It was all very good. My favorite meal so far on this trip. Have a good evening my friends, I will check back in with you tomorrow.

  1. Hello Bob! We have been in Fayetteville for the past few days, hence the reason for not posting.
