The day started out on the bike path and then a back track to the train station. The train trip was long and very uneventful. I went back to Dresden, then to Leipiz, and then to Lutherstadt-Wittenberg.

It was hot and windy early. I was only going to ride part of the way as last night I decided to go to Lutherstadt-Wittemberg. That is city in which Martin Luther was a monk when he posted on the door of the church his reasons the church was wrong to sell indulgences. It is a famous town and I wanted to go there. This is the town hall with of course one of many statues of Martin Luther.
I found my hotel and went exploring. But first I raided the minibar and had a local (near Dresden) beer. It was very good.
It is a very pretty town with a lot of pastel color. There were people but the streets were not crowed. I had a few snacks along the way.

After walking some more I went to the church service. There were about 45 people in attendance. Probably 10 were from the community that supports the American Lutheran presence in the town. The others were from ten different states and about 10 different countries.
After walking some more, I returned to my hotel and had dinner. A beer, some fries and cranberry sauce, with a schnitzel. It was good. All in all a very good day. Tomorrow I plan to ride but again the forecast is for heavy thundershowers about 1:00. I hope I can get somewhere by then.
