The trolly (street car) stop outside the Basel Train Station. I went there today to buy a ticket for tomorrow ride to Strasbourg. By staying an extra day in Basel, the ride tomorrow would be 155 km. That is too much for me and it is still raining. But raining as hard as it was in Alabama and north Florida last night.
Inside the Basel train station.
The city history Museum. Not bad, lots of historical stuff.
A trolly stop near the center of town. They really have an extensive trolly and bus system.
A small bar near the trolly stop. I went in but chose not to eat there.
A shopping street.
The outside of a very old church.
The interior courtyard entrance to the church.
Another section of the courtyard.
The same.
The same. I believe it may have been a cloister at one time.
The central market in front of the Church.
A McDonalds in a very old building.
The Rhein river at the Atlstadt. the oldest part of town. The original bridge here was the first across Rhein.
The main trolly bridge.
Another interesting old building.
The museum of natural history. They had dinosaurs and other stuff. Lots of stuff from the formation of the Alps and the plants and animals that lived there.
The Munster.
Inside.
The river from the court yard behind the church.
The river again.
An adult beverage I enjoyed with my business man's late lunch.
I had an early dinner/ late lunch of roasted lamb, roasted potatoes, and green beans. It was very good.
My luncheon restaurant.
An interesting fountain. Do not let the administration at TSU see this picture.
Another church. It had an interesting name.
Inside the church.
The front door.
From a distance. That is all for today. Tomorrow I take the Regional Train to Strasbourg. I have my ticket and my route planned to the train station. It is about 6 km from my hotel. Hopefully the rain will stop and I can begin riding again soon. Like Friday.
Pictures are great, meal looks tasty. Hope you have sun and no rain tomorrow.
