Trip - still a go
After a few days of uncertainty and anxiety with the medical profession (cardiology and imaging professionals), the upcoming bike trip has received a proceed as planned clearance. I had a couple of stress tests and a heart catheterization during this past week. My pacemaker has been adjusted for an increased exercise level and I am ready to go. The only lingering question is: how can you attach a pacemaker to a bicycle to give it more power when my legs muscles want to quit. Seriously, I am excited about being able to continue and I want to thank those medical professionals (especially Dr. Carlos Garcia, my cardiologist) who worked hard this week to help make it possible. I fly out on Monday, August 9 and expect to make my first blog from Germany on Tuesday evening. Since Western Europe is seven hours ahead of Central Daylight Time (CDT), I should be posting most days near 2:00 pm CDT. Of course for the uncounted readers on EDT that would be 3:00 pm.
