Today started very well. I left the hotel at 8:00 am in 65 degrees weather with a slight tail wind and a partly cloudy sky. I immediately had a surprise not one block from my hotel.
The town fountain with fresh cold drinkable mountain water. I immediately emptied my water bottles and filled them with new water. It stayed cold for over two hours. This was a pleasant find. Very often the town fountain has a sign “Keon trink wasser. Which translates as “ no drink water”.
I had a major problem along the way and could of resulting me never getting to my destination..I was going to pictures of the scenic views. They were everywhere in every direction. I could have taken pictures for hours. It was just awesome. I will post some of the best and ones that have a story. I hope I do post too many.
The bike path was paved most of the way. Some section went though small town on the river. The was in fields and forest. But every where there was a mountain on each side of the valley.A section I had just pushed up. In the very narrow parts of the valley there is not room for the river, the highway, the railroad, and the bike path. Guess which one gets pushed up out of the valley.
This was a sign, I think to tell me how much of my path for the that I had completed. I wonder how they knew where I was going. I think I was actually 40% complete at the time so they got it wrong.
A forest glen with a real nice and clean bathroom building.
My hotel for the evening. Its restaurant was closed. I do not think this is the busy season for this hotel.
A pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the river. There were many of there especially in the communities.
My mean after a short train ride to another town. It was very good but I could not eat it all. Pork tenderloin slices in a mushroom sauce with Austrian egg noodles, bacon and assorted vegetables. .
Beautiful mountains. Glad I didn’t join you for dinner.🤣 Glad you made it safely.
