August 9, 2022 - Kassel

 

Today I stayed in Kassel for one more night. I felt I needed more time to see some of the hill country outside of Kassel. I woke up not having to prepare my bicycle for riding nor having to pack everything I have with me.

My chosen means of transportation for today. Actually I rode the tram, the bus and the train at one time or another.

The bushof in front of the Bahnhofplatz in Kassel. I had a confusing time getting there as I got on the wrong train but the very nice ticket checker help me find my way. It was actually more complicated than that but that story is way too long for here. I did get all of modes of transportation correct from this time on.

The one thing Americans do not like about Europe, a coke with out ice. I had this with my lunch  

My lunch, fried rice from a very nice chinese restaurant. It had great flavor. I did use any soy sauce on it as i did not want to destroy the fresh flavor of all of ingredients. I ate almost all of it, a giant portion.

The next three pictures take on a serious note as I ride I seek out, and very often find memorials, evidence, reminders of the Holocaust. This is the reminds well keep, now, of the jewish cemetery in Wolfhagen.

Tonight's light dinner, a rindwürst and french fries. I have not a riindwürst in many years as it is a local sausage to the Germany state of Hesse. Most all of trip will be in Hesse.

Tomorrow morning I will leave Kassel for Hann. Münden. It will be good to be back in the saddle again.  That might make a good song.
