Our flight to Munich was eventful but not as planned. About one minute prior to the pilot putting us on the longest taxi of any airport through which I have flown, a team of very pleasant flight attendants asked us if we would be kind enough to swap seats with a family with a small chid and a rather large service animal. Both of us being of a rather generous nature and having stayed at the bar too long were agreeable to the move. The move was to the last row of the plane with as Delta calls it "limited recline". This means you sit straight up for the flight. We were treated very nicely by all of flight staff after the move as they no longer had to trip over "Max" with his feet or tail in the aisle.
The arrival in Munich went smoothly and we were quickly in a Taxi with Said at the wheel flying at speeds of near 150 kmh to our hotel. We made arrangements with Said to fly us back to the Munich airport on our return trip and said good-bye to Said.
We went to bed with our respective bikes packed, our bodies exhausted and minds on the the adventures to come in the morning, knowing that we would once again be the young men who met so long ago with the return of sun rise.
