Tuesday, April 19, 2016 - Scheveningen, Nederlands

This day started with a very good breakfast at my B&B. The breakfast and the
Accommodations were excellent. The owners went out of their way to make me feel at home. He baked some cookies for me to take on the road. The day's ride was partly through farm land, partly through mechanical dike/flood gates, partly through heavy industrial area, partly through harbor/port area, and partly through urban areas.  The scenery changes as I moved north. I am now at a beach resort. Do not think Panama City Beach but more like Atlantic City. Today it was in the 50s and a lot of people were at the beach. I can just imagine what it will be like in warmer weather. Everybody has been great to me, even when I hesitate on the bike path. Everybody else is much faster than I am am fast. I am excited that I will be here for King's Day on April 27th. I will have to plan where I want to be for the celebration.  I will write more about that before and after the party. Tomorrow I will ride through the primary Tulip area to another beach area. There maybe many tulip pictures tomorrow, especially if I can find orange and blue ones next to each other.

My personal breakfast fixed by the B&B owners, very good. They insisted I take the leftovers with me. I had a great lunch also.

A two kilometer long green house. the picture does not do it justice.

A restaurant in an old German bunker. See next picture.

The Restaurant.

The ferry at Maassluis, i took this sat ferry going south in 2011.

Street scene in Maassluis, very typical of American opinion of the Nederlands.

The Kurhuishotel in Scheveningen. Not my hotel.

A couple carrying a cat. It was on a lease and later they put it on the ground and it waked beside them like a dog. This is the second time I have seen this n a bike trip.

My dinner for the evening with a local beer.

Tot Ziens.
