St. Goar to Andernach - 67 km (469 total)

Lots of pictures taken early. Today was an easy day. The road was not as crowed and it was paved most of the way. However a part of the way, about three miles, was paved with rough cobble stone. That was the part with the sign. That was a funny name for a street. I only talked to one person a guy from Austria but it was a brief conversation about bicycles. I am going to change my trip plans tomorrow. My gps maps are not working so rather than go from Cologne to Brussels, my original plan, without maps, I will continue on the Rhine to at least the German/Holland border at Emmerich. Depending upon the time I may go on to Arnhem or further.

Today's town is very nice and very old. The inner city has very narrow streets. I only snacked this evening. I finally had a wurst with brote. I also had a pastry, an apple raisin thingy. All was very good. I finished with an interesting beer. The last picture is of my hotel, can you tell which room is mine. If you click on the picture it will go to full screen.

  1. Germans are smart people! It appears all their bike paths go around and between the hills, follows the flat routes along rivers and steams and amazingly ends up at at hotel where you have to drink 1 r 2 beers before you enter.

  2. James is very perceptive! Wonder if he also noticed your laundry hanging out the window? Very Deutsch. The beers look enticing and I am already looking forward to next year. But the beach first, and then football games. Planning over a few beers too:-). If you're using your iPad; it's working great as the pictures are outstanding.

May your travels be always downhill with the wind at your back,
    Jack
